Zonisamide Capsules USP

Generic Version of Zonegran® Capsules

Zonisamide is a capsule prescribed to treat seizures. While it can be prescribed as a single medication, it may also be prescribed in conjunction with other medications to better control health. Customers may receive this drug under the name Zonegran.

Zonisamide is used to help to control seizures alone or in conjunction with other therapies.

Please contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice any of the following reactions: drowsiness, incoordination, excitability and loss of appetite. Other side effects are possible. Your pet may also have an allergic reaction if he is hypersensitive to Zonisamide.

Notify your veterinarian of any other medications, including vitamins and supplements, your pet is taking before using this medication.

Do not give Zonisamide to animals who are allergic to similar medications or to sulfonamides. If your pet has liver or kidney disease, use this medication with caution only as directed by your vet and only if the benefits outweigh the risks. Do not use in pregnant females as birth defects can occur in fetuses exposed to this medication.

This drug is FDA-approved for human use. However, it is common practice for veterinarians to prescribe such drugs for use in dogs and cats.
